The Pakistan cricket team enjoyed Kolkata’s famous cuisine on Sunday ahead of their crucial World Cup match against Bangladesh.

The Green Shirts skipped dinner at the team hotel and instead ordered Biryani, Kebabs and Chap from a famous restaurant in Kolkata.

The Babar Azam-led unit placed the order through an online food delivery platform.

The director of the restaurant, Shadman Faize, said that they had no idea that the order was placed by the Pakistan team.

"The order came through an online food delivery platform. They ordered three dishes which were biriyani, kebabs, and chap. They ordered it on Sunday evening after 7 PM. Initially, we had no idea that the order was from the Pakistan cricket team but later we got to know it. I hope they liked the food. People from every nationality should come and try our food. Kolkata has its own style of biriyani which is very famous all over the world," Shadman told ANI.

Earlier, former Pakistan pacer Wasim Akram had questioned Pakistan team’s fitness after their defeat against Afghanistan during the World Cup.

"Just look at the fitness levels of our players. We have been screaming here for the past three weeks that they haven't been through fitness tests in the last two years. Now should I name them individually, their faces are getting broader. Seems like they are eating 8 kilos of meat every day. There should be some test, you are being paid for playing for your country and there has to be a certain criterion," Akram said on a local sports channel.

Despite losing four games in a row during the ICC World Cup 2023, Pakistan still have a chance to qualify for the semi-finals of the mega event.

As it is essential for Pakistan to win their remaining matches, in an ideal scenario, the Green Shirts require New Zealand to lose their remaining matches as they have eight points from six games. If the Black Caps lose their next three matches, they'd end the group stage with eight points, and Pakistan can qualify for the knockout stage with 10 points should they beat their next three opponents.

Pakistan’s remaining ICC World Cup 2023 matches

October 31 - vs Bangladesh in Kolkata

November 4 - vs New Zealand Bengaluru (Day match)

November 11 - vs England in Kolkata
